John W. Marcus is a Partner at Scura Partners and leads the firm’s strategic initiative with Accounting firms and Wealth Management firms.
For over 40 years, Mr. Marcus has served as an investment banker, merchant banker and lender. As an investment banker, he has advised numerous middle market companies on raising debt and equity in the private markets as well as on strategic acquisitions and divestitures. As a merchant banker, he has taken minority equity positions in middle market companies and advised on their strategic corporate direction. As a lender, he has financed a number of entities in connection with Project Financing and LBO transactions.
Most Recently, Mr. Marcus ran the broker/dealer subsidiary of Method Holdings, a financial services company working closely with the accounting industry. He was previously a Managing Director with Laidlaw & Company, a longstanding investment banker to the middle market, a Director of Prudential-Bache Securities, and a Vice President of Manufacturers Hanover. He has also served as a Partner with several boutique investment banks in New York serving the middle market arena.
Mr. Marcus has a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance & Commerce and an MBA in Finance from the Fordham University Graduate School of Business.
